The missions and prayermovement are joining forces
Over the last weeks some historic events have been taking place in Kansas City, Missouri. They may have not been noticed by the whole world but i belive in the decades to come they will unfold to a scale we can not imagine in this hour.
Between the 4th and the 11th of September 2016 Youth With A Mission (YWAM - one of the largest missions movements in human history) had their annual "YWAM Together" gathering in Kansas City, Missouri. One reason this particular location was chosen by the founder Loren Cunningham, was, as Mike Bickle put it: "because he wants to see a intentional deepened relationship between the prayer movement and the missions movement". Mike Bickle is the founder of the International House Of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City which hosts continual Worship and Intercession since 1999. Each of those organisations represent a movement that is way bigger and involves way more people and organisations than just their own.
YWAM represents the so called missions movement wich is marked by young missionaries who are ready to go to the ends of the earth to share the gospel with the least, the last, and the lost.
IHOP represents the so called prayer movement wich is marked by young worshippers and intercessors who are ready to pray day and night to declare the truth about god and to stand in intercession so that the great comission might be fulfilled and the day Jesus returns can come more quickly.
Over this last week those two movements, represented by YWAM and IHOP have officialy stepped into a very intentional partnership in order to join forces to see the fame of Jesus being spread to the last tribe and tongue on this planet. There would be many things to say about why this is such an amazing and historical event, but all i want to do here is to assemble some of the most important statements that have been made concerning this partnership over the last weeks.
On August 21st Mike Bickle and Mark Anderson (the leader of the YWAM-Base in Kansas City) spoke together at the House of Prayer about the upcoming "YWAM Together" conference and the partnership they want to enter into. Mark Anderson is reading the words Loren Cunningham sent him concerning the choice of Kansas City as the location for this conference:
"There is going to be megalevel changes coming to the world during troubled times (...) there will be a dynamic megalevel change and it will start in Kansas City. It's a biblebelt city, it has a protection that has come from the lord, it has a strong prayermovement, and an open thin heaven".
And then Mark goes on to say: "This week is (will be) a result of the Lord stirring Darlene who first got it, then Loren who got more on it, and then sending it to me and it resonated with what i have been contending for over the past 17 years..."
The following sunday on August 28th John Dawson from YWAM spoke at IHOP about „Interpreting the times“ and "Making atonement for the land". Both are avilible to listen to here: "Interpreting the times": http://www.ihopkc.org/resources/asset/2016_08_28_0845_MSG_FCF/auto/true/
"Making atonement for the land":

The sunday after that on the 4th of September, the day the conference started, Loren Cunnhingham, the founder of YWAM also spoke at IHOP, requesting their help to stand with YWAM in intercession and to join him in finding 1 Million people who would backup ywam through intercession in their mission.
Then 4 days later on thursday the 8th of september, Mike Bickle came to speak at the "YWAM Together" conference about "the missions and prayer movement joining forces". He shared a bit about the background of the prayermovement and made a comitment as a representative to stand with YWAM in prayer and intercession untill we see the great comission finished.
After that powerful evening YWAM announced a celebration of partnership wich happened at IHOP on Sunday the 11th of September. Darlene Cunningham, David Hamilton, Mark Anderson, Mike Bickle, Allen Hood and other leaders of both organisations talked about the partnership YWAM and IHOP KC entered into. The most outstanding quote of this time was in my opinion a sentence Mark Anderson said:
"...the fact that prayer and missions (...) actually find eachother on a whole other level is, i think, the biggest dynamic of the week"
We aggree with him fully and are very excited to see how god will use that partnership he initiated over the last years for his purposes in the years to come.
May his Kingdom come and his will be done on earth at it is in heaven!"
This is a fitting picture someone posted on the YWAM Together - App:.
